New Version of ISO 22000 Supporting Documents
pátek, 15. srpen 2025In July 2025, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) released an updated series of ISO/TS 22002 standards to ISO 22002 standards, which set out the requirements for establishing, implementing, and maintaining prerequisite programmes (PRPs) for various sectors of the food chain.
The update brings several important changes:
- Introduction of ISO 22002-100:2025 – a new common standard containing general requirements applicable to all sectors of the food, feed, and packaging supply chain.
- Updated sector-specific standards (ISO 22002-1, -2, -4, -5, -6) to reflect current best practices.
- New ISO 22002-7:2025 for retail and wholesale operations, replacing PAS 221.
- Revised standard for transport and storage, applicable to food safety hazard control in transport and storage activities, including cross-docking and transshipment, excluding transport of live animals except when intended for direct consumption (e.g., molluscs, crustaceans, live fish).
These changes create a more consistent structure across the food chain, raise the authority of the documents (as they are now full ISO International Standards rather than Technical Specifications), and provide clearer, updated requirements for certification. We will gradually integrate these updated standards into our certification processes.
